Our organic farming project consists of three parts. In 2016, we have finalized the realisation of the first component of our project. These areas which surround our house, consist of the following modules:
- A barn, awaiting the arrival of hens planned for 2017.
- A labyrinth maze created by bamboo plants. This labyrinth enhances the presence of various insects and it serves as a place for a meditation and the entertainment of the children.
- A natural swimming pond, which includes twenty species of aquatic plants.
- An “exhibition orchard” where you will find at least forty different kinds of fruit trees and fruit bushes, including an apricot tree, vines, mulberry bushes, apple trees, pear trees, quince trees, fig trees, plum trees, cherry trees, olive trees …
The second component will please all children: beginning of 2017, we were delighted to welcome 7 alpacas; 5 females and 2 males.
The third component of our project involves the creation of an orchard-inspired by the principles of agroforestry. In our case, the idea is to grow trees among pastureland for sheep. The first phase of this component will likely begin end 2017. Currently, we are completing the design and we plan to implement this area in several steps.
